Employee Assistance Program Manager

Major duties include facilitating the coordination between employee and substance abuse professionals, which includes monitoring employees' progress, prepares monthly reports and answers questions concerning the Agency's policies and procedures. Conducts management/supervisory, and employee EAP orientations and briefings. Consults with, advises, guides and assists all levels of management regarding all EAP functions. Using a knowledge of Agency policies, guidelines, and procedures, addresses issues that may involve employee behavioral and/or conduct. Utilizes leadership skills and abilities to develop support for solutions when divergent and strongly held viewpoints are involved.Develops and completes Treatment Rehabilitation Plans (TRP) with support from the Medical review officer and the contracted employee assistance provider. Manages all drug and alcohol related cases in assigned regions. Coordinates with the union to arrange CISMP services for impacted employees as needed. Serves as a member of the VIWP crisis team. In concert with the team's labor relations specialists, makes recommendations for course of action, and may recommend and develop approaches to address complex issues, internal and external.Develops and implements a number of Work-life services for FAA employees and family members (e.g., seminars, briefing/training sessions.) Responsible for marketing and increasing awareness/understanding of EAP services and products. Participates on the National EAP management team. Provides EAP or special project updates to regional management official and the national EAP manager.Establishes and maintains professional working relationship with community, state, Federal and private organizations involved in the EAP field. Completes special projects as required by the National Work-life manager and regional manager. The duties of this position impact the effective program management and administrative requirements of the EAP. Establishes and maintains professional working relationships with community, state, Federal and private organizations involved in the EAP field.At the I Band Level, incumbent performs multiple, varying and complex assignments under minimal direction of a manager, which include but are not limited to the following:
Acts as a contributing specialist on large work activities or as a project manager or team leader, and may perform leadership functions for projects and/or programs within defined area of responsibility.Works independently and is responsible for planning time and completing assigned tasks and workload. Applies experience and comprehensive knowledge to plan and conduct EAP functional activities. Independently plans workday, making optimal use of resources to accomplish projects and activities; Communicates with sources both internal and external to the Agency. May be called upon to communicate FAA positions on policies and procedures internally and externally.The incumbent follows established policies/procedures; however, he/she applies interpretative skills regarding ambiguities and fluctuations in policies/procedures to select and apply the most appropriate approach or to develop a new approach. Resolves most problems and works issues without assistance of manager or team leader. Develops and recommends approaches, techniques and analyses of novel situations.Work is rarely reviewed, typically through status reports and at project completion to ensure policy compliance and alignment with requirements. Work activities typically support and may be vital to the success of projects or activities for one or more organizational units, major subdivisions or LOBs. Strong communication skills are required for this position. The incumbent may perform other related duties as assigned. To qualify for this position at the FV- I level:
To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV- H or FG/GS-12 level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience includes the following:

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
