Material Handler
Job Description
Summary:
Material HandlerResponsible for pre-assembly preparation of wire/cable, pulling parts and material to meet customer specifications.
Essential Duties:
- Examine pick ticket requirements to determine required parts and materials.
- Operate equipment to prepare wire/cable for next operation.
- Hand count and/or operate weighing equipment to ensure proper quantities of parts/material pulled.
- Maintain orderly shelves and bins in the stockroom.
- Complete paperwork as required and perform inventory allocations in a timely manner.
- Cut material to pick ticket requirements.
- Print labels using drawings/pick tickets for appropriate information.
- Pre-bag and tag repetitive parts, as needed.
Additional
Responsibilities:
- May provide back-up to Machine Operators.
- Other duties as required in support of the department and company.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent with 3 months to 1 year related experience.
- Basic math and reading skills required.
- Working knowledge of measuring/weighing instruments.
- Good manual dexterity.
- Good communication skills.
- Demonstrate sound judgment when following through with priorities.
- High degree of accuracy pulling correct material, counting parts, measuring/cutting material and typing labels.
- Able to work flexible/additional hours on short notice with a positive attitude.
Physical Demands:
Regular Lifting up to 10 pounds, frequent lifting up to 25 pounds and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
