Maintenance Mechanic Job Purpose:
Maintains production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment. You will be responsible for conducting repairs to the physical plant and plant equipment; conducts preventative maintenance and project work as needed; and ensures operation of electrical systems, mechanical systems, and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
Maintenance Mechanic Job Duties:
Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on, motors, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments. Conducts assigned work in a safe manner and adheres to safety methods.
Repairs and replaces faulty mechanical and electrical components. Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments ,
Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies report to Plant Engineer
Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
Performs mechanical preventative maintenance
Must be a self-starter, work well as a team with other Maintenance Staff and Production Staff
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Skills/
Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age or older
High school diploma/GED preferred
Must have troubleshooting experience; Programming experience preferred
Must be able to read schematics
Must be able to work scheduled hours and overtime
Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and/or holidays
Must be able to communicate effectively in English
Must possess basic arithmetic skills and good mechanical aptitude
Must have working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulics, and pneumatics
Must possess strong attention to detail, analytical skills and mechanical aptitude
Must be able to work both independently (unsupervised) and as a member of a teamEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
