The Position Develops, implements, and coordinates product assurance program to prevent or eliminate defects in new or existing products by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
Oversees and is ultimately responsible for the entire ISO 9000 certification and compliance of, for Davis Wire Kent.
Job Description Primary Responsibilities Develops and control processes, practices and inspection procedures to ensure that products are manufactured, handled and delivered in compliance with standard practice and customer requirements in the most cost-effective manner.
Develops and conducts regular process audits to ensure compliance to quality procedures Reports deviations from quality standards or standard practices to Plant Manager and recommends corrective measures and action to be taken.
Analyzes process data and uses results to develop and implement quality and productivity improvement initiatives Evaluates scrap reports and assist manufacturing in programs to reduce total scrap output.
Administers corporate rod evaluation procedures.
Recommends and assist in the preparation of programs designed to increase efficiency, morale, safety of all production employees and production supervisors by maximum utilization of proper management techniques.
Provides technical assistance to department heads and division management as assigned to special projects and experimental/research and developmental work.
Provides continuous and on-going evaluation of raw material quality, assuring proper functional use pertaining to proper design specifications, material availability and supply source qualification.
Assist customer relations as it relates to formal resolution of complaints, variances from standard specifications/practices, and/or courtesy evaluations.
Effectively coaches, manages, and provides continuous feedback to all Quality Assurance Supervisors, Quality Assurance technicians leads and Quality Control Technicians to ensure the highest standards and efficiency of the Quality Assurance Department.
Manages employees assigned to the Quality Assurance Department.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Analyzes, evaluates, and presents information concerning factors such as business situations, production capabilities, manufacturing problems, economic trends, and design and development of new products for consideration by other members of management team.
Responsible for managing ISO 9000 certification compliance including program administration, management review, quality system audits and continuous improvement.
Conducts microscopic and spectroscopic studies of metals and alloys to determine their physical characteristics such as crystal structures, dispersion of alloy particles through basic metal, and presence of impurities, fractures, and other defects in metal samples.
Reviews reports on tests of alloys in tension or fatigue devices to study physical characteristics for manufacturing purposes or determine compliance with manufacturing specifications and standards.
Provides required characteristics and testing requirements for all incoming rods.
Collects and reviews data on conformance of rod materials to established standards.
Initiates claims/complaints concerning defective or substandard rod and provides data to substantiate those actions.
Determines appropriate processing routs for rejects or returned materials (rod and wire) and to assure that the correct dispositions are being carried out.
Provide basic metallurgical service for process control and product analysis.

Job Requirements Bachelor of Science in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with 5
years related experience and/or training; Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts.
Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity analysis.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software and Manufacturing software.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
